The 27th annual get together of the SLQS was held at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dubai on the 15th December 2011 with the participation of a large gathering of members and their families. Hon Consul General of Sri Lanka for Dubai and Northern Emirates of the UAE, Mr. Abdul Raheem graced the occasion as chief guest and Chairman of University Grant Commission of Sri Lanka Prof. Gamini Samaranayake has delivered the keynote address as guest of honor. Our own Prof. Samaratunga and other distinguished guests participated as invitees glorifying the biggest Sri Lankan professional get-together in the Middle East.
Mr. Edward Jayathunga and Mr. Chaminda Suraweera were awarded with “Contribution to SLQS community”, and “Carrier Achievement” for the year 2011 respectively at this 27th SLQS Annual get-together.
In a recently held ceremony, RICS appreciated its members who tirelessly worked to promote RICS membership in the region. Two prominent members of SLQS-UAE, Prasanna Pushpajith and Manju Sri Adikari was awarded for their following effort towards to the SLQS members in particular and RICS in general.

The RICS Global President See Lian Ong, presented these awards in a ceremony held in Dubai on 05 October 2011.
Prasanna was awarded “RICS APC Chair Commitment for Year 2009-2010", he has become the first Sri Lankan QS to receive such awards in a consecutive two years.
